Sorry I'm not doing a very good job of keeping up with this. I guess we've been busying since the beginning of the year! My parents were here for New Year's for a week which was great! Hayden had fun playing with PaPa and wanted to know if they would come back for his birthday in April. It was cute! He is back in school now which is good. The break was nice but it was also nice when it was over. John was a little off with Hayden home. Hayden was actually sick last week but is feeling better now and back in school. He's learning so much and he amazes us daily with things he's picked up. He's also growing again. I may have to buy some new pants to get him through spring or he's going to be wearing capris! He also has his first loose tooth. It's kinda weird b/c you can see the permanent tooth coming in behind the baby tooth. Hopefully it will fall out soon and Hayden will get his first visit from the tooth fairy!
John is moving right along too. He's becoming such a little person. He now notices a lot more like his hands and anything in his immedieate area. He also likes to grab for things now. So we have to watch what's near his reach. He found his feet and likes grabbing them now or pulling off his socks. He enjoys chewing on his hands, or anything soft, playing in his excersaucer, looking at books and being with Mommy, Daddy and Hayden. He is getting a little more hair and he's eating purees now. We've tried squash, sweet potatoes, apples, pears and butternut squash. He likes most of it, he's a better eater than Hayden which is nice! We try a new food every 4 or so days and he's done good so far. He is talking more and says what sounds like hey a lot. Who knows what he is actually saying, could be hey or his version of Hayden. That will probably be his first word! We've heard the da-da sound as well. Of course, no ma yet, but that's okay. I know he likes me best! He is really close to sitting up unsupported, a few more weeks and he should have it. He's also learning how to push up on his hands when on his belly. And occasionally he'll pull his knees up for a second. I am not encouraging this, although Heath thinks it's great. I've already had one child who walked at 9 mos. John can hold off. Anyway, he's not sleeping the greatest right now so we're working on that. He wants to be held when he sleeps. We keep trying to put him down and it works sometimes. We have to let him cry a lot and he doesn't always stay asleep long even after he's cried himself to sleep. I"ll post some pics later as he's now up from a 15 min nap. Don't really think that counts as a nap but oh well. We'll try again later!
