In our attempt to get a good pic for the birth announcement we got some good shots of the boys together!

Sitting in the swing

Before the Clemson/Citadel football game. A house divided with Hayden and Heath in Citadel shirts and Heather and John in Clemson shirts. Hayden wanted John in his Citadel shirt too but I got to him first! And thankfully Clemson redeemed themselves from the pitiful game against Alabama! Go Tigers!!

Week 5

Wow, John is still growing and doing new things weekly. This week his neck is getting even stronger and he finally starting smiling a little. This was exciting for us. Finally we are getting something back. He's making cute noises and he does something that sounds like a sigh. It's usually when he wants something and we aren't getting it fast enough. It's pretty funny!

Hayden is doing good. Last week they had a Freedom Walk for Patroit Day(Sept. 11) at school. They taught the kids the National Anthem and we were singing that night before bed. Hayden kept saying Hosea. So I asked him what he was talking about. He said "Hosea can you see." So we had a good laugh over that. So of course since I laughed, he continues to do it! Pretty funny!

That's about it for now. Just trying to keep up with both kids while Heath is out of town. It's been a little crazy but we're still here. He'll thankfully be home soon!

Mommy and her boys ready for football!

One Month Old

Wow, John's a month old now. Time is flying. He is doing good, working on holding his head up and trying to move. He likes to be outside and he likes riding in the car. We are still trying to figure out a schedule but most days we do okay. He's also gaining weight. I took him yesterday and he weighed 10lbs. Two weeks ago he was only around 8 and a half lbs. He's eating good.
Hayden is enjoying school and he's learning a lot. He especially likes art, music, P.E. and the library, where he can check out a book each week. I'm including some pics from the last week or so. We took a picture with our Clemson hats on before the game last Saturday which was fun. John's is a little big and he liked staring at the orange bill. We tried to cheer the Tigers on but it didn't help! Hopefully this week will be better. But we'll be a house divided with Clemson playing The Citadel. Hayden says he's pulling for The Citadel. We'll have to see about that! I'll post more later!

Wednesday

Okay, so I'm finally getting back to this. Things have been a little crazy since John came home. John was born on August 4 weighing 8lbs 3 oz. and 20 1/2 in. long. My parents were here when we got home from the hospital and stayed for a week which was nice. Hayden was very excited to meet his new baby brother although he gets jealous when John gets all the attention. Hayden started kindergarten the next week and that has helped. He seems to like it and I'm amazed at what he's learned already.
John had a little jaundice after we got home so we had to take him in several times to have his bilirubin tested. This was no fun but it resolved and he's fine now. Although this week he's got a stuffy nose and is a little fussy. Otherwise he's a good baby and sleeps 3-4 hours at a time at night. We think this is great considering Hayden would only go 1-2 hours at a time!
This week has been a little stressful with Hayden home sick Monday and Tuesday but he thankfully went back to school today! Okay, I'm posting some pictures from the last few weeks and I'll post more later!

Friday

Okay, I'm still figuring this out so hopefully I'll have more up soon. Now we are just waiting on the baby to get here, anytime now would be good.

We got Hayden registered for school this week which was exciting. He is very excited about meeting his teacher and starting kindergarten. We have all his school supplies and a new lunch box so he's ready to go. We have a little over a week and I'll have first day of school pics to send out. Stay tuned.

Day 1 Starting Out

Okay, so I'm going to give this blog thing a try. Still trying to figure out how everything works so it might be a few days before I really get it up and running. Plus I'm 37 weeks pregnant now and if I go into labor it might be awhile before I get going again. Stay tuned!
